Joelton, Tennessee - A Place For Nature Lovers

Sitting atop a rocky ridge in northwest Davidson County, Joelton feels a world away from the city. Folks here drive the back roads, listen to foxes bark in winter, plant their vegetables in spring and watch out for copperheads in autumn leaves. They live in a community of 7,500 that has a McDonald's and a Days Inn, but is not ringed with subdivisions. The community is also home to a number of businesses that serve the region, including music studios, glass artists and restaurants. One of the most popular is The Ryman, where you can catch a performance by someone like Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood. It's also a museum where you can explore exhibits on the history of country music and learn about the legendary performers who have played at the venue.

Another Joelton attraction is the Cumberland Park, where you can gaze at the river or take a stroll around the famous pedestrian bridge that stretches across the water. The park is also the site of an annual NAIA Education Pow Wow, which honors the area's original Native American inhabitants with a series of lectures, workshops and demonstrations.
